Jyoya No Kane - Ringing in the New Year at Dairyuji

除夜の鐘

Jyoya no Kane is the Japanese tradition of ringing the temple bell 108 times at midnight to usher in the new year, as well as shed the mistakes and vices of the past year. 🐍
All are welcome to attend!
• December 31st
• Doors open: 11:00 pm
• Cost: ¥1000 (Ticket include a 2026 horse charm / JHS age and younger children are free)
• Bell ringing: 11:30pm ~ 12:30am ( each person rings the bell once)

There will be a raffle that you are automatically entered with buying an entrance ticket. After ringing the bell you are invited to celebrate and relax in the cozy tea room that overlooks the garden and bell tower. Drinks and light snacks will be served.

There are two parking lots. The driveway is heated so you can drive up through gates to and the right for the closer driveway.
Dairyuji is a 10 minute walk from Oga station.
Jyoya no Kane is a meaningful ritual meant to help us enter the new year with a clear mind and joyful heart.

去りゆく一年の煩悩を、
大龍寺の除夜の鐘が静かに包み込みます。

澄んだ夜気の中で鐘を撞き、
心を整えたあとは、ライトアップされた庭園で温かなひとときを。

慌ただしさから少し離れ、
新しい年を静かに、清らかな気持ちで迎えませんか。

23:00　開場・受付開始（～0:30）【本堂】
23:30　除夜の鐘 撞き始め
0:00　新年祈祷
0:30　くじ引き
2:00　閉門（すべての行事終了）

参加費
1,000円（鐘撞き・お守り・温かい飲み物付き）
※中学生以下無料

鐘を撞いたあとは、
庭園を眺めながら、温かい飲み物でゆっくりお過ごしください。

・大晦日・正月の御朱印をご用意しています
・1月1日～3日は拝観無料（自由参拝）
